Friday

Today we woke up and had delicious pancakes, homemade with love by Cyndee. Then we went to a pirate birthday party.... and there really were scary pirates there! Loud and crazy pirates! And lots and lots of them! (Just kidding) There were about 10-15 very, very small children there and an absolutely adorable 9 month old that I got to hold and who would smile when Sydney played peek-a-boo!

Any Hoo... I came back to the house and CRASHED! I'm either tired from my over-activated allergies or traveling or both. But I took a 2 hour nap! Cyndee and Amelia decorated the cake...

The girls and I decided to do some site seeing this afternoon and evening. We went to the Washington Arboretum. It was so beautiful! (I feel like I'm using that word a lot lately!) We walk A LOT! We walked and walked, cause we wanted to get to the Japanese Garden which was way, way, way over on the other side of this HUGE area! As we were walking I was noticing cars drive by and thinking I could have taken my car instead! But I think it was worth the walk. I'll get the pictures on here soon... I'm very tired right now!

Well, we finally decided to just walk back to the car and try to drive to the Japanese garden... The drive was really cool and we found the garden. But then we walked up a hill and past a trackor yard before I realized we were going the wrong way again... They need better signage here!

When we found the entrance to the garden we took a picture of it! It was 11 bucks for the three of us to walk through. I paid because I didn't want to say I did all that searching and walking for nothing!

The Japanese Garden is nice.... it's a Japanese Garden!

On our way back to Everett we stopped at the Macaroni Grill for supper. My tummy was not used to such rich food. I had to waddle out of the restaurant and all I had was sliced tomatoes and a cup of soup.

Tomorrow we see the TOWN.

Nighty- Night..... it is 10:30 and the sky just got black... I love the long days here... I will miss them :)

More pics of Lake Blaine Fun

Kalispell

Today we are leaving Kalispell. We've had a WONDERFUL time here! It was gorgeous weather... not too hot, not too cold. Montana is spectacular...for two months out of the year. So I've decided I'm not going to live here :)

The girls rode the innertube every day. Although, Sydney didn't like it after the third try because it rubbed her legs and hurt her legs. As we drove into Lake Blaine, she said, "I'm not swimming in that pool!" But she was in the "pool" after about 10 minutes! I think she has a love/ hate relationship with the lake. Amelia, however, was true to her nature and swam like a fish. She also LOVED the inner tube.

Today we will head out to Spokane and spend the night. Tomorrow we will arrive in Everett... which is where Cyndee lives... outside Seattle.

On the road again!

All about Vegas...

We had a great time in Vegas. The girls were introduced to the world of Casinos and Gambling! Amelia pronounces it cAsino (short a sound)... it is cute. And she hates them! She doesn't like the smell of the smoke. She also didn't like the concept of gambling. I guess I've done my job of 'sheltering' my kids.

Vegas at night was very neat. All the lights and amazing architecture was beautiful in it's own way. It really is an amazing place... and HOT! It was probably 95 degrees at 9:00 at night. We laid by the pool all day. We had to enter the pool every 15 minutes... and forget the sun... we needed shade!

We saw Cirque De Soleil... AWESOME! On the way, we saw a tower that looked kind of like the Space Needle. Amelia later called it the Space Point... laugh.... and then as we left Vegas, Sydney called it the Shuttle Point.... laugh, laugh, laugh.

Today we drove, drove and DROVE! We drove for about 450 miles to Ogden, Utah. The girls were very good and only had a few verbal scuffles. We counted license plates from various states... mostly Utah... of course :)

We are settled (semi) into our Inn for the night and we'll be heading out for Butte in the morning.

Happy Father's Day - The Pictures Speak Loud Enough

To a Devoted Father... We still love you SOOOO much and miss you every, every day!

Toothless... Finally!

After much negotiation and bribery! Sydney allowed us to pull out her tooth. Well, that is if pinning her down and waiting for her to open her clenched jaw is considered "allowing".
Now isn't that a beeeuuutiful smile! (By the way, I was NOT the one who offered the 20 bucks! That is from Grandma!)

Thanks Uncle Matt!

Beach Day

I woke up this morning resolved to go to the beach, despite the weather. The forecast didn't look good, but we started packing up anyway. Three layers on top and sweats on the bottom, no bath suit and we're ready. of course, the girls wore their suits.

Stepping outside I was a little encouraged. It was still cloudy, but not too cold. By the time we picked up Tiff Tiff, the sun was out. So much for the forecast. I was still wearing a tank top, long sleeve shirt and jacket when we arrive at 15th street in Newport. It was gorgeous! I stripped the sweats (I had packed shorts in an emergency) and loaded up the kids with boogie boards, and bags.

We found our spot with the little Salem community. We sat in a horseshoe watching our little (and big) ones play in the growing waves. The sun was perfect, the breeze was perfect, the sand was perfect.

I got asked more than once about my camera. I think I will not be shy about my love of taking pictures anymore. Maybe they will appreciate it when they see the photos.

Didn't make it back to the car in time and got a parking ticket. So at 4.30 a gallon and a 47.00 parking ticket, the trip was expensive. Oh well.

This was our second beach day of the summer.... to be continued
